An original concept carved from linoleum and hand-printed. You’ve heard of Baba Yaga, the evil Russian witch whose house moves about on chicken legs. Well at some point Baba Yaga had to have been a baby – hence Baby Yaga in her chicken-legged bascinet.
This print is a playful twist on the famous Slavic folklore character.
It blends elements of folklore with a humorous or perhaps satirical twist, turning something typically seen as dark or scary into something more playful.
A linoleum plate is hand-carved and then printed on acid-free paper. Unlike a computer image the ink sits on top of the paper and the printing process impresses the image into the paper as well.
The image is shipped unmounted so that you may frame or otherwise mount it as you desire. The image is printed on 8.5″ x 11″ paper and then signed and dated.
